Activities on the Beach
- Jet Skiing & Parasailing

Xiaomeisha’s calm, turquoise waters make it a prime spot for adrenaline-pumping aquatic adventures. Jet skiing is a favorite among thrill-seekers—rent from official waterfront kiosks (staff wear clearly marked uniforms) for ¥200-300 per 30 minutes. Before setting off, you’ll receive a brief safety briefing (available in English) covering speed limits, no-go zones (marked by buoys), and emergency procedures. The route takes you along the coastline, offering close-up views of the resort’s golden sand and lush mountain backdrop. For a bird’s-eye perspective, try parasailing: secured to a speedboat, you’ll soar 30-50 meters above the sea for 15 minutes (¥380 per person). The experience includes a gentle launch and landing on the beach, with the option to request a “dip” in the water for an extra splash of fun. Note that both activities require you to be at least 16 years old (or accompanied by an adult if 12-15) and wear provided life jackets at all times.
- Paddleboarding & Kayaking
For a more relaxed way to enjoy the sea, rent paddleboards or single/double kayaks near the main beach entrance. Equipment is well-maintained, with adjustable paddles and stable boards suitable for beginners—no prior experience needed. Rental rates are ¥80-120 per hour, and you can extend your time on-site if availability allows. Glide along the shoreline to spot colorful fish in the clear shallows or paddle to quieter coves away from the main beach crowds. Many visitors prefer early morning (9:30-11:00 AM) or late afternoon (3:00-5:00 PM) for cooler temperatures and calmer winds. Staff are on hand to offer basic tips (like how to balance on a paddleboard) in simple English, and life jackets are mandatory for all participants, including children (kid-sized equipment is available for ages 6+).
- Family-Friendly Fun at Ocean World (Late 2025 Reopening)

Set to reopen in phase one by late 2025, Xiaomeisha’s Ocean World is a must-visit for families and marine life enthusiasts. The renovated attraction will feature state-of-the-art exhibits, including a 10-meter-tall underwater tunnel where you can walk beneath schools of tropical fish, stingrays, and even small sharks. Don’t miss the daily marine animal shows—think dolphin acrobatics, sea lion tricks, and penguin parades—with English commentary scheduled at 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Interactive zones will let kids touch starfish and hermit crabs in shallow tide pools (under staff supervision) and learn about ocean conservation through hands-on displays. Advance tickets for Ocean World will be available via the resort’s WeChat mini-program, with combo packages including resort entry expected to launch closer to the opening date.
- Beach Playground Adventures
Located near the central beach pavilion, the beach playground is a hub of activity for visitors of all ages. Sports lovers can join pickup games of sand volleyball on well-maintained courts—just grab a ball from the rental desk (¥20 deposit) or join a group if space is available. For a playful challenge, tackle the obstacle course, which includes rope ladders, balance beams, and sand pits designed to test agility. Kids (and kids at heart) will love the zip line: a 20-meter-long cable that glides over the sand, offering a quick burst of excitement (height restriction: 1.2m+). The playground is shaded by large umbrellas during peak hours, and nearby benches let parents relax while keeping an eye on little ones. Free water fountains are also available nearby to stay hydrated after active play.
- Hike or Cycle the Coastal Boardwalk
The 19.5km coastal boardwalk connecting Xiaomeisha to Dameisha is a scenic gem for outdoor lovers. Rent a bicycle (¥30-50 per hour for standard bikes, ¥80 per hour for electric bikes) from shops near the resort’s north entrance, or lace up your hiking shoes for a leisurely stroll. The paved path winds along the cliffside, with unobstructed views of the South China Sea—look out for fishing boats bobbing on the horizon and lush green hills rising behind the coastline. Highlights include several viewing platforms where you can stop to take photos, and small beaches accessible only via the boardwalk. If hiking, aim for the 3km stretch from Xiaomeisha to the “Sunset Point” (a popular spot for evening views) to avoid fatigue. Cyclists should note that electric bikes have speed limits and designated lanes, and helmets are recommended (available for rent at bike shops). The boardwalk is open 24 hours, but daytime visits (8:00 AM-6:00 PM) are safest for first-time visitors.
